REVIEW

HEAVY

Australia-based surf and garage rock band, Skeggs, have finally wandered into the states. After hearing their single L.S.D, we knew immediately that these guys would be a treat to see. Especially since few and far new groups are making their way into Florida for their tours.

Gaining exposure online today is like finding a needle in a haystack. Endless swipes that drown into the same click bait video with a catchy tune. With infinite access to production software, anyone and their mother can make a feel good song. Don't get us started on the USB-J’s that engulf our beautiful state.

You can be on top of the world at one point and then everyone forgets you the next day. Skegss have entered the pop rock chat with a refreshing sound. Unlike most artists that have been placed in a similar genre, these legends are ready to go the distance. Starting in the armpit of America. A place called Florida, where people go to enjoy the extraordinary weather or dwindle away in a retirement home.

Skegss may not be the most outrageous instrumentalists on the block. However, they are obviously making a conscious effort to better themselves and their craft, which I respect, greatly. We need more of that, we need more people taking a chance. Taking a chance on themselves and devote music followers. An original sound and an eager soul is all you need. Let's be honest, the low hanging fruit is gone. Every inch has been scrapped off the ground. The Skegss have what it takes to be a continuously successful band and we praise them for their constant effort as emerging artists.
